Creating something from nothing becomes a ceremony in sacred time and space and begins with meditation. When a receptive, mind is achieved relinquished of self-criticism, a blank canvas comes alive with every brushstroke; A mound of clay becomes a sculpture that brings warmth and grounding; Scraps of wood becomes a portrait, and all the colors of life shine through my stained glass work.
When oil paints invite themselves onto the canvas they bring substance into my tangible world of realism.
When watercolors decide to play on my canvas they remind me to go-with-the-flow in all of life's situations.
If pen and ink tap dance into my sketchbook, new ideas are born, abstract or permanent as they may seem.
When mixed mediums gather around my workspace waiting to be noticed, anything can happen. I follow my instincts without plan or reason till a variety of objects fall in place. Scattered parts of my life merge in harmony.
But when souls from the other side pop into my energy field unannounced, Mediumship Artwork is in progress. This unplanned phenomenon stimulates the senses leaving me in awe of God's creative process.
When my childlike world of fantasy and whimsy awakens, fabric designs take center stage. A variety of fabrics are tossed together in rhythms of brilliant and muted colors.

When approaching a new endeavor I play with clay to ground it into reality. As I pound it, roll it, mold and carve my ideas into it, my muddy hands get a workout. The details are scored out with intention then baked into reality. Wala! A new creation born.
My first attempt at artmaking was with wood. I used it as therapy, cutting through my anger transformed a negative feeling into something beautiful. Then I carved, sanded, and stained or painted it until a fundamental need within was/is fulfilled. It's a spiritual connection with the Divine in sacred time and space.
